Cast Stone
Architectural Cast Stone is an affordable alternative to the elegant look of limestone. Since it is produced to simulate natural limestone, it has many of the characteristics of limestone and, with few exceptions, can be an attractive alternative for a variety of reasons.
Cast Stone can be custom colored, structurally reinforced, and when a mold is available, can be produced quicker and less expensively than natural limestone. Both have variations in color that weather or age with distinction. Cast stone has the same characteristics of limestone, so the same care must be taken when handling and installing cast stone:
Both are awkwardly heavy, easily stained and prone to delicate edges.
Both require special handling, from delivery to installation.
Proper procedures must be followed to insure professionally finished results. If industry standard guidelines are followed, the cast stone product will be a beautiful and distinctive compliment to any masonry application.
